The year seems to be flying by! Time again for another installment of my monthly blog circle with my photographer friends and this month we are exploring “Change”. Perhaps, this is really an appropriate time to review this topic – as the seasons change, weather gets cooler and leaves seems to take on a darker hue, we are reminded everyday that the only constant in life is Change!!

In my life, change comes in many different ways. She (yes, I believe she is female! 🙂 ) comes knocking on my door when I least expect her and other times she comes with fair warning. Sometimes, she is a welcome guest and other times, I want to send her packing as soon as I realize she is home. But what I have learnt from all the changes – obvious and subtle – is to go with the flow and to make the most of it.
Change came in the form of wild mushrooms suddenly sprouting in my yard. So out came the macro lens and I spent 30 minutes taking pictures of said mushroom – up close and personal.
Change came when our car broken down in the middle of no where on a recent road trip. The whole gang got out of the car and hiked up a mountain for some spectacular views.

Change again took over when I handed off the camera to my hiking buddy so that I could take in the vistas – I ended up with a lovely image of myself 🙂

Early morning hiking excursions changed into lessons on how to skip stones on water!
Perhaps one of the hardest changes this summer was when a dear friend moved out of Chicago. Suddenly life seemed to stand still and I felt as lonely and alone like this grazing cow 😉

But then I realized that life will find a way to bring new friends and new experiences back in. All I have to do is keep an open mind and an open heart and embrace change!!!

Be sure to check out my friend Erica’s post on her interpretation of change.
