Every year I participate in the Great Cloth Diaper Change Event that is a part of the Guinness Work Records Challenge. Kate at The Joyful Giraffe organizes this event in the western suburbs of Chicago. This year Kate and I decided to have a Baby Portrait Photo Booth as part of the event. To say it was fun and super cute is an understatement!! π I got to hold some adorable little ones and take pictures of all the participants. My pictures of the actual diaper change will be making it’s way to the official committee that will consolidate pictures from all over the world and add this as an entry in the Guinness World Records Diaper Change ChallengeΒ π

I wanted to show some behind the scene images of the baby portrait booth setup π
Like all backdrop and booth setups, mine started in Home Depot. I found some wooden planks as well as laminate flooring for the base of the booth. The friendly people at The Home Depot cut the planks for me and also gave me sample laminate flooring for FREE! – Love the service at The Home Depot. The planks were used to hang my sample prints. The backdrop is actually an old out-of-commission curtain but I loved the leaf print and off-white color. I made the colorful pinwheels with plain old card stock paper Β and hung them with bakers twine and mini brown clothes pins (found at Hobby Lobby). I used large tote boxes to transport all the stuff and while I was setting up at the church, I found two tall fake plants that helped hide the backdrop stands.
Many thanks to my friends and fellow photographers, Tanvvi at Tanvvi Agarwal Photography for the flooring suggestions and Aparna Jain at Photography By Aparna for lending me the light stands/backdrop stands π

Of course the best part of the baby portrait booth setup were the cute models who stopped by. Some were trilled to have paparazzi on them, some were confused about all the fuss and some were just plain camera shy π π

I had a great time at the event and a huge thank you to Kate at The Joyful Giraffe for organizing this awesome and educational event and baby expo!
