Featured In Chicago Suburban Glancer Magazine – Mother’s Day Brunch Ideas

What an incredible honor! My first magazine feature – woohoo! I am so exited 🙂

Memorable Jaunts along with Artesa Baking and Simply Donna Designs are featured in Chicago Suburban Glancer Magazine this May. This issue is all about moms and our feature is around moms who are successful entrepreneurs 🙂

We had such a blast planning and photographing this photo shoot. Martha at Artesa Baking shared a lovely family recipe for a chocolate cake that was handed down to her by her husband’s great aunt (who passed away at the age of 93 a week after this shoot in April 🙁 ). This made the shoot that much more special and meaningful not just to Martha and her family but to all of us. The incredibly talented Donna at Simply Donna Designs designed all the paper goods displayed at the shoot and yours truly photographed the event 🙂

We wanted to keep it a light and airy shoot with many hand made and personal details. Family pictures, Vintage China and Vintage table cloth highlighted this shoot. Donna’s lovely daughter and my four-legged baby modeled for us and at the end of the shoot, we sipped tea, ate some of the yummy chocolate cake, laughed and celebrated our friendship!!

Martha is truly a master baker and her lovely shop Artesa Baking in Homer Glen is simply adorable. It is a true reflection of Martha’s quiet charm and artistic baking skills. Donna, not only designed the paper goods, but also styled the shoot – the hand painted mason jars and pink twine added the right amount of elegance to this shoot out. We wanted to make it easy for anyone wanting to do something special for mom for Mother’s Day!
