Hard to believe that 2014 is already here and we are well within the first three weeks of the month. I know I am procrastinating a lot here already but I am giving myself some slack. 2014 is already proving to be a magical year – at least the first 16+ days of it. Having spent my New Year’s Ave and first week of 2014 in one of the most magical places on earth – Yellowstone National Park in the peak of winter and doing something that I absolutely love, photographing wildlife and winter landscapes, I have only positive vibes of what the rest of 2014 is going to hold! 🙂
I dont do goals very well! – yes, I probably should and I know it’s really great for a business to have a road map with tangible action items (you can tell I have been reading some heavy duty small business materials :)) – but so much of my view of where I want to be and what I want to do has been redefined this past year. 2013 was a really great year – my life and business experiences were amazing and challenging at the same time. I learnt a lot and grew a lot – both as a person and as a business.
I cannot do a best of 2013 because there is just so much to highlight and celebrate – it would be really hard to choose favorites from the weddings I photographed (and have yet to blog, ahem!), the lovely families that I got to hang out with and get to know while taking their family photos, and the amazing locations I got to travel with my family! – Instead, I decided to look to the future to the things I hope to experience more of as I traverse this year of the horse 🙂
For 2014, my hope is to…..
– Spend more time getting lost in the mountains – breathing and rejuvenating my mind, body and soul
– Laugh out loud more with my kids – just because I want to 🙂
– Better document our lives, so that I savor these childhood years for ever and ever
– Spend more time with family – those near by as well as seven seas away
– Be more present in the moment without any thought of what’s next on the day’s agenda
– Be able to tap into my inner creativity to stay inspired to my art
– Work less and play more with my kids
– Have frequent date nights and romantic evenings and never take them for granted
– Most of all, I hope 2014 is happy, healthy and adventurous
